Eligibility — age & education
- Age: 18–23 years as on 01-Jan-2025 (born not before 02-01-2002 and not after 01-01-2007). Category relaxations apply as per notice. 4
- Education: Matriculation / 10th class pass from a recognized board as on 01-Jan-2025. 5
- Nationality: Indian Citizen (domicile/PRC requirements apply for state/UT-wise posts). 6
How to apply (step-by-step)
- Generate One-Time Registration (OTR) on https://ssc.gov.in (old OTR is not valid).
- Fill in Online Application Form, upload a live/captured photograph (follow instructions) and scanned signature (10–20 KB JPEG per notice). 7
- Pay application fee online (BHIM UPI, Netbanking, Visa/Master/RuPay debit card). Fee: ₹100 (women, SC/ST and eligible ESM are exempt). 8
- Keep a printout of the submitted form for your records. Watch the SSC and CRPF sites for admit cards (issued online only). 9
You can edit your application during the Correction Window (05-11-2024 to 07-11-2024) by paying prescribed correction charges. 10
Exam scheme & marking
Computer Based Examination (CBE): One objective paper of 80 questions — 2 marks each (total 160 marks). Duration: 60 minutes. There are four parts: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge/Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English/Hindi. Negative marking: 0.25 for each wrong answer. Questions are of matriculation level. CBE will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages. 11
Note: Marks will be normalized; NCC certificate holders may get bonus marks (A/B/C certificates — 2/3/5% of max marks) if opted for in application. 12
PST / PET / Medical
- PST: Height, chest (male) and weight as per the standards in the notice. Relaxations for ST, North-East, certain hill communities etc. are specified in the notice. 13
- PET (race): Typical norms — Male: 5 km in 24 minutes; Female: 1.6 km in 8.5 minutes (times vary for Ladakh region); check the notice for full table. PET is qualifying — no appeal against PET results. 14
- Medical: Detailed Medical Examination (DME) will be conducted by CAPFs. Original documents will be verified at DME/DV. 15
Documents to keep ready
- Matriculation/10th certificate and marksheet (for age & education proof).
- Domicile/PRC (as applicable) — mandatory for state/UT wise posts.
- Caste certificate (if claiming reservation), ESM certificate (if applicable), NCC certificate (if claiming incentive), Aadhaar or other photo ID.
- Two passport size photographs and the printout of the final submitted application.

Application fee & correction charges
Application fee: ₹100 (payable online). Women, SC, ST, and eligible ESM are exempt. Fee payment deadline: 15-Oct-2024. Correction charges (first correction ₹200; second correction ₹500) apply during the correction window. 17
Useful tips
- Do your One-Time Registration (OTR) on ssc.gov.in well before filling the application.
- Follow the exact photo & signature specs — many applications are rejected due to non-compliant images. 18
